Brown Rice Milk

1/2 c. cooked brown rice

2 c. water

1 tsp. pure vanilla extract

Sea salt, pinch

Combine ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth. Strain through a metal or plastic strainer—or cheesecloth for a smoother consistency. Keep the milk and discard the rice pulp.

Servings: 2 cups

Oat Milk

1/2 c. uncooked oats, any kind except “instant” or “one-minute”

4 c. water at room temperature

Soak the oats in the water for 20 minutes. Soak directly in a blender, if you are short of time or if using fine-rolled oats. Blend. Strain for a smoother consistency. Refrigerated, oat milk lasts up to a week.

Servings: 4 cups
